The Visual Learner Series - Part 1
A few days ago, as I was loafting in my room and surfing the net for videos, I came across a very interesting find I thought I’d share with you. Many of you read this blog because it serves as a resource for musicians. We all have different learning styles. Some of us learn by ear, some of us learn by practicing, and some of us learn visually. This post is geared towards those who love to learn visually. Throw away all your sheet music, transcripts, pens and pencils, because this post is for you!
Gotitans999 - Who is he?
Many of you may known him by his YouTube username, Gotitans999, but his real name is Ryan Jones. If you’ve ever visited his YouTube Channel, you’ll find a plethora of video tutorials for popular main-stream songs which have some sort of piano part in it. Some of the songs include Because of You (Neyo), What Goes Around Comes Around (Justin Timberlake) and Circles (Marques Houston).
What He Does
Aside from running his own YouTube Channel, Ryan also owns a small business venture titled PlayPianoDVD.com. His website address is also located as a watermark on every single one of his tutorial videos. Ryan bundles different videos into a DVD and sells them in different volumes. To me, this is a very smart idea, and a great way to target those who are either new to the piano, or aren’t too good with reading sheet music.
The Future is Friendy…and Visual
From what I can see, the future of short tutorials is moving online. From teaching a large audience how to dance via video, to even showing the evil-minded how to create a nuclear explosive, it’s clear that the use of videos online is being an increasingly prominent role in learning and developing a specific skill-set. Now, here’s the part you’ve all been waiting for…
Ryan will be recording an exclusive video for TheMusicBlogger. He will show you how to play Wait For You by Elliott Yamin. Click “Continue Reading” below for more details.
Yes, yes, it’s true. If you’ve always wanted to learn how to play Wait For You by Elliott Yamin, here’s your chance to learn it…visually.
