3. The instrument I play is the Flute and it is the best woodwind instrument because the mellow sound of the flute is the only way to express the passion and joy I have for music. Having gone through so many years with my flute, through exams and competitions, I have come to see that the flute is the only instrument that can melt people’s hearts with its beautiful pure sound. Each note floats away from this instrument like golden sunbeams from Heaven! It is also very easy to carry it around and is simple to assemble. The flute is therefore ideal for anyone who loves music!

3. Clarinet, the instrument I play is the best instrument out there. On a technical level, it has the largest range of the woodwind. It is also evry versatile. It is used in classical, jazz, pop, even rock music sometimes. It has a warm tone that is very comforting. Most of all, it is the instrument that always shares my emotion when I’m happy or sad. It is the instrument that helped me going through hard times before. To me, clarinet, with no doubt, is the best instrument out there.
I play the Bb clarinet, and have since the 6th grade (6 years). I believe that the clarinet is the best woodwind instrument for many reasons. For one, the clarinet produces a beautiful dark sound, owing to the (normally) wood material. Also, it’s unique cylindrical shape ending with the coned bell allows sound to project throughout whatever room it is played in, be it a classroom, bedroom, or theater.
The clarinet is an enjoyable, yet difficult, instrument to truly master. The dozens of fingerings and alternate fingerings may take years to fully explore, but the diversity of range the clarinet has allows it to be used in so many ways in concert, marching, and orchestral settings.
I believe that the clarinet is under-appreciated. Many people associate clarinets with the squawking sound the instruments may sometimes make, but do not seem to realize the clarinet’s true potential as a woodwind, a grave mistake to be made.
Throughout these years of my playing the clarinet, I can’t be drawn away from it. There’s something truly mystical about the way I love playing the clarinet, from the moment I first put one together, to when I recieved my first, my very own clarinet. Some might call me obsessed, as I have named both of my clarinets. (My Buffet E-11 is Bob the Random III of Switzerland, and my Buffet B-12 is Fred and a Half.) True, this example of my band-geekiness may seem strange to others, but for me, I wouldn’t have it any other way than with the clarinet.

I play the flute which I think is the best instrument ever. I think it’s the best instrument because it’s just a really cool thing to play. The flute’s sound is very relaxing, some describe it like an angel’s voice. The flute is one of the oldest instruments with a history thousands of years old. From Europe to Asia, the flute has been a part of many cultures. The flue also goes well with a lot of instruments. From a piano to cello, the flute can be paired with most instruments. It also can be made from lots of materials, wood, gold, sliver, or even glass. The flute is very compact and can fit into many back-packs for traveling or could be carried by hand. You don’t need to buy reeds or anything extra to play a flute, all you need is air. It’s easy to clean with just an old handkerchief and a rod. It’s also very easy for a flutist to find a place to play. Flutes are needed in band, orchestra, churches, or in simple quartets. Flutes are used in many types of music too, from classical Bach to modern music. There are techniques that can be used to create an eerie sound or a sweet melody. The things you can do with a flute are endless, that’s why I love the flute and think it’s the best instrument in the world.

2. I prefer not to post it, but it is readily available if it is needed. Just let me know.
3. “The flute is by far the best instrument to play. The sound it produces is calming and soothing (when played correctly, of course). It is also very easy to carry around. I think it is the most elegant and beautiful instrument in the woodwind section, even the entire band / orchestra! That is why I love it so much.” ~ Nicole
The clarinet is the best woodwind out there for several reasons:
1) Range– it can play from E3 to C7, which is better than other woodwinds.
2) Family– E flat, B flat, A, alto, bass, E flat contrabass, B flat contrabass
3) Harmonics– most instruments are built on octaves or harmonics like brass, but clarinets are the only instruments built on 12ths.
4) Two words: Benny Goodman.
One word-heaven. This is what I think about when I hear the sound of a clarinet…the sky is what I see when I hear this instrument play. I believe that I can go into great lengths about why my Bb Clarinet is the “best” instrument out there. Through my 8 years of experience with the clarinet, I have found that this instrument exemplifies the definition of “beauty.” I have heard oboes, and flutes, but no woodwind instrument can sound lower then a boat’s horn or higher than a song bird’s highest note.
• While the clarinet’s sound alone defines greatness, we can not overlook how a clarinet player makes emotions come to life. I feel that the clarinet is under-appreciated because there are not enough players who actually “connect” with the clarinet and understand how they can make the clarinet’s notes a book of words. Sabine Meyer, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, and Larry Combs- these are the people that make the clarinet speak feelings that are deep and dreary, or happy and wistful. The clarinet is the only woodwind (in my opinion) that can express a person’s soul and heart in just a couple of measures of pure loving sound.
• For me to say that the clarinet is the best technically-I would be telling a slight fib. At first try, the clarinet might seem easy, but as time goes along the instrument gets harder because there is more to the instrument than just a few easy notes or a beautiful lower tone. Composers such as Weber, Mozart, Cavallini, and Debussy created extremely lovely, just lovely pieces that require massive musical interpretation and technical ability. But what is more beautiful than the sound of a clarinet? The flute may have a lovely tone that hypnotizes you, but it is often very sharp-especially in its higher register. Of course the clarinet has a shilling altissimo register, but it is a shilling sound that goes up and down your spine and makes your mind go free as the person listens to hear the clarinet’s story. The Oboe may have a rich sound, but it is not as pleasant to listen to on a long ride home. However, the clarinet is able to be heard at any time of the day no matter where the person is.
• Most people associate the clarinet to only being made for classical music. However, such greats as Benny Goodman and Artie Shaw proved that the clarinet can be just as funky and free as a saxophone or trumpet player. On top of that, the clarinet has been used in pop music by the Beatles (Liverpool), Latin music, and has made its mark on the great Broadway music all over the world. There has been a TV show about the clarinet entitled “The Green Clarinet” in Britain, the clarinet has been used in commercials,( Zatarain’s rice), and has been most recently been on the side of new and upcoming musicians in this world. And on top of that, the clarinet has so many different makes and models- possibly more than any other instrument.
• Therefore, the clarinet is by far the best woodwind in this world and possibly one of the greatest out of all the instruments this world has to offer. Not only is the sound just melancholy, soothing, and just plain marvelous, the history is great, the genre the instrument can play is vast, and the publicity is tremendous. In all truth, I wouldn’t even be living today if it wasn’t for my clarinet. She saves me whenever I’m alone or feeling depressed. Through my clarinet I am able to share my soul and let my soul resonate through its immaculate sound. And through my clarinet I can imagine being something one day because I am given hope and dreams I never had before with anything else in my whole entire life♪♫♪♫♥

I play the b-flat clarinet. I definitely believe that the clarinet is the best instrument–not just because of its incredible range, its distinct timbre, and its large family populated with clarinets of a variety of shapes and sizes. As a little girl who dreamed about playing a woodwind instrument in the school band, I found learning music easiest on the clarinet. If it had not been for the clarinet, I probably would not be a musician right now, because my school required “try-outs” to play in the band. I had originally wanted to play flute–but learning to make sound on a flute can be a difficult process. Learning to make sound on a clarinet, however, was infinitely simpler.
Obviously, what sound I made on my first encounter with the clarinet was NOT music–far from it. I’d call it noise. BUT–after my first experience with the clarinet, I learned notes and rhythms and good embouchure. For me, fluttering through notes and trills on the clarinet is a pure joy. I still want to learn to play flute, but only because I imagine playing fast melodies on the flute will be just as rewarding as playing those melodies on the clarinet.
The clarinet was my gateway into the world of music. I can always find a person who, like me, started learning music on the clarinet. For that reason, I think the clarinet is the greatest of all instruments.

Instrument: I play the flute and I think it’s the best woodwind instrument because i believe it can be played with the most feeling and sensitivity. It allows me to play how i feel and express what cannot be said.
The clarinet is the best, cause it can be played in many different kinds of music.
The oboe is the best instrument out there because it is so unique and has such a beautiful sound. The oboe is an extremely challenging instrument to play because when you don’t know what your doing there is no way to b.s. your way through it. The Oboe requires pure skill in order to sound right. But when it is played properly, it has such a unique sound that fills the room. The Oboe can have a very sweet and glorious sound to it, but when played low can sound very ominous. Not many woodwinds have as much variety in the sound of the instrument as an Oboe does, I just lvoe its versatility. That is why I love the oboe!

I started 4th grade playing the flute. I picked up the clarinet in sixth grade, while still playing the flute in school. I switched just this year, my senior year, to oboe. The difference was incredible. The flute, with its mellow, melodic sound was no match for the unique sound of the oboe. The sound can be changed, even with the same note, to match the tone of the piece. An oboe solo is unlike any other solo, for it sounds mysterious. With a flute, you always have a crisp, vibrant sound and with a clarinet you always have a dark, deep sound. The oboe can be melody with the flutes, fingering very fast notes all while maintaining a tricky embouchure. It can also be used for the counter melody or the beat. A lot of songs have oboe solos because of its unique sound. While a lot of songs have flute solos and clarinet solos as well, the oboe solos always sound the most interesting and rare.
Having played all three different instruments has given me a different look on things than those that have played only one. While each instrument is amazing in and of itself, I find myself most happy with the sound that comes from playing the oboe.
I play the Bb clarinet, and have played it since the fourth grade. I am currently in ninth grade. Obviously this is the best instrument out there. I mean if it wasn’t, why would squidward tentacles, from the show spongebob squarepants, play it. There are also many uses for the clarinet (besides making beautiful music of course). First of all, u can fill it with ice cream for a delicious treat. Or you can wear it at as a hat to win a crazy hat day contest at school. If you aren’t to big then u can use it as a chair. Of course while doing these things you must make sure not to damage the instrument. You can also play the clarinet to get a girl or boy friend (depending on gender). The clarinet has a deliciously satisfying sound which is sure to impress anyone. Clarinets are the best instrument out there, and if you are very kind to it, it will be kind to you in return.

Why OBOE is the best instrument out there - Oboe is the best instrument out there because it is a unique sounding instrument with a great tone, when played correctly. So many people hate my instrument, but that’s only because they haven’t heard a good oboist! The orchestra and some bands tune to the oboe for it’s unique sound and ability to be heard over the group, and Haydn wrote so many great thing for oboe in his symphonies because he is quoted as saying that it’s his favorite instrument. Many modern movies today like their haunting tones at the perfect sad moments (like Tristan and Isolde or the Mission) but it is also known as having a jaunty sound and is a great duet with the flute (like in Bizet’s Arlesienne Suite No. 2). That’s why oboe is so wonderful, for it’s beautiful sound and versatility. I’m proud to say I play the oboe!

When I started in 3rd grade, my arms were too short to reach the foot joint of the flute, so I was put on clarinet. At first I hated it, because it wasn’t what I wanted, but 13 years later, I’ve learned to love it. The clarinet does have a great range for a woodwind, and for beginners it’s easy. Once you get into concertos by Mozart, though, it gets a bit tougher. It lends its self to different kinds of music, and can be used in jazz, swing, classical, bands, and orchestras. It’s by far the best instrument!
And I have to agree with the 7th post: Benny Goodman is another reason.
My instrument is the clarinet… Besides its lovely range of notes it’s sounds is beautiful!!!! and u can play it with a bunch of instruments to make more beautiful sounds. I love how high and low it can go. Basically I love it because it reminds of my Walt Disney music that I always use to listen to when I was younger
:) it’s a lovely feeling

My instruments are Eb Alto Saxophone and Bb Tenor Saxophone. I believe that the saxophone is the best woodwind instrument because of the ability to be extremely expressive in numerous musical styles from classical to jazz to rock. If you listen to various jazz musicians you can heare completely different sounds, for example the sounds vary extremely from John Coltrane to Jan Garbarek to Paul Desmond. Each of these have created distinct and definitive sounds on the saxophone.
The Soprano Saxophone is the best as it is not only capable of playing it’s own music, it can easily blend in with other Bflat instruments like the Clarinet, Tenor Sax, and even the Trumpet. The Sop. Sax is the woodwind vengence against brass instruments.

3. I play Bb clarinet. The reason I think it’s the best is because I can just sit down, zone everything else out, and play. That always feels just right.
I play the clarinet. One reason why the clarinet is the best instrument out there is because, when played correctly, the sound is beautiful. It’s warm, relaxing, and pure. It’s a sound that no other instrument can produce!

3. I have been playing flute since 5th grade (8 years). Ever since the minute I picked it up I was in love. The sound is almost impossible to describe. It has such beautiful tones and the lilting, airy sound. It has the ability to go from dark and haunting to cheery and bright. When played, it delves deep into peoples emotions and even plays with them in some pieces. People cry when they hear it’s darker side. They laugh when they hear playfully joyous moments. They might even clap along to a little tune played.
I can tell you that I have experienced all of the emotions and sides of the flute that I have described here and so many others that I am unable to put into words. There is nothing more amazing than to hear this instrument played with heart and soul and to hear all of that pour out of it into the melodies uttered. I am so glad that I chose this instrument and I am proud to say that I am a flute player and always will be. That is why flute is the best instrument out there.

Instrument: I’ve played the oboe for 7 years. It is the best instrument out there because it’s unique. No other instrument sounds like it. It’s kind of nasally, but that’s what makes it great. In fifth grade, when everyone picked their instruments, all the girls wanted to play the flute because it was pretty and shiny. And if they didn’t play the flute, they played the clarinet because those are the two girlie instruments. But I choose the oboe because I wanted to be different.
When I started playing, people told me that I sounded like a dying duck. And my mom hated it when I played in the house. It drove my family nuts. But I took lessons and continued playing and I kept getting better. Now I play in an orchestra and in my school band. There’s nothing cooler than playing the oboe. You can play it in anything: band, orchestra, I’ve even seen a jazz oboe before. And if you play the oboe, you can play the english horn (which has the famous solo in Romeo and Juliette)! What’s cooler than being able to play two instruments by learning one!
People always say that the oboe’s one of the hardest instruments to learn. You have to have the perfect embouchure. You have to deal with a double reed, which eventually you have to make. You have to be strong enough to handle the criticism people give you when you start playing. It takes a strong person to play the oboe and play it well. I think that’s because whoever made the oboe didn’t want some sissy to play his instrument. And that’s because he made the best instrument ever created.
The oboe has a beautiful sound. It’s unique and special. Only the best can handle it. That’s why the oboe is the best instrument ever.

3. A reason why the Woodwind Instrument you play is the best instrument out there- I play the flute. I started off playing the flute in 4th grade and gave it up after a year. I started playing again in 11th again and have continued since then. The reason I think that the flute is so great is because that the flute can produce some amazing melodies. Some really high notes and some low notes. The beautiful sounds that come out the flute make a flute ideal for playing in a church.
The flute is also a C instrument which means it is fairly easy to find music to play. You can use any music for a C instrument and just transpose it up or down an octave to make it fit into a flutes range.
Also there are musicians like Jethro Tull who have done some amazing things with the flute. The sounds he makes from them make the flute sound more versatile then other woodwind instruments.
This is why I think the flute is a great instrument.

Reason why the woodwind instrument I play is the best woodwind instrument out there:
I have been playing the flute for nearly ten years now, and it is my concentration as a music education major. For all that, there must be a reason I stuck with it - in fact there are a plethora of reasons, but here are just a few:
1. The different timbres you can achieve with this instrument are incredible - from the range in pitches, to flutter tonguing, to bending the flute, and the ability to play partial pitches with an open-holed flute - your options are nearly endless!
2. What woodwind instrument outside the flute family requires so much air be used, while only actually utilizing a small percentage of that air? The flute requires great breath control, a never-ending challenge to aspire to.
3. Flute players have been highly regarded for their contributions to the musical world - for example, the great Sir James Galway.
4. The flute family is the only one in the woodwind group that doesn’t use a reed.
So, I play soprano saxophone. I’d say it’s the best because it’s so damn hard to play. I only attempted it after 2 years of playing alto saxophone but even now, after 5 months of playing it, every now and then I still have the random urge to pack it up and bury it. Why you ask? Because I do believe, after the piccolo that is, it is near impossible to tune. Most often it starts off sharp, which you can tune, then it warms up and you end up flatter then a trombone being played by a four year old. So, with all that said, I am truely in love with my soprano saxophone and it is the best because it’s so damn difficult and takes only practice and practice that turns into skill to master.
In fourth grade, when I chose the clarinet, it was originally because it would be easy to carry around. Now, over five years later, those reasons have changed. The clarinet produces the sweetest sound out of all the woodwind instruments. It is also a key element is Klezmer music, which is a large part of my culture. It is also the best instrument because my small hands can easily reach all the keys. (I tried my brother’s saxaphone and couldn’t reach half of the keys.) The clarinet is a gorgeous instrument that is wonderful to play. That is why it is the best woodwind instrument out there.

3. Bb clarinet is clearly the best woodwind instrument out there, and I will tell you why. It’s easier for people with little hands to play, but it still requires some training with ambouchure. Furthermore, when played well, clarinet is positively beautiful! It’s got this wonderfully woody sound, almost husky. It’s not raspy like a saxophone can be, or tinny, like an oboe. Furthermore, where would a woodwind ensemble or an orchestra be without its clarinets? Nowhere!
1. My name is Sierra.
2. sparklegirl139@hotmail.com
3. I play the Bflat clarinet and it is the best because it has great tone quality and was invented in germany. Also, it can play 3.5 octaves and it looks great in a concert. Furthermore, everyone needs to know that the clarinet really doesn’t sound awful as portrayed by squidward on spogebob. He just doesn’t play it right. I have been first chair all my life and play my instrument for two hours and 3 hours if you include band class. Any other wind instrument just can’t compare to the clarinet.
The Clarinet is the best woodwind, hands down. It’s by far the most versatile and bridges the gap between the different kinds of woodwinds. It’s not brass like a saxophone or a flute (although it was at one time), and it’s not bulky/expensive/finicky like the double reeds. The clarinet has an amazing [audible] range and isn’t quite as straightforward to play as a sax or flute (or oboe). I won’t elaborate on these two subjects, since they’ve already been discussed.
Clarinets can be loud instruments and compete with saxophones if needed. They are quite maneuverable on the marching band field and not unweildy like some instruments. If any band instrument is likely to play through the whole piece without measures of rest, it is the clarinet, doubling the trumpets or horns, leading the saxes and flutes, or just doing their own thing, clarinet music is cool!
So… you can play classical, swing, be-bop, ragtime, dixieland, Klezmer and not be truly innovative (as the clarinet is traditionally associated with these styles). Where would dixieland or Klezmer be, especially, without the clarinet? We’ve had some great popular clarinetists, like Benny Goodman, Pete Fountain, Artie Shaw, etc. who have shaped the clarinet into the popular (and cool) instrument it is!
In closing, we have the volume, range, moderation, volume of materials and styles, and backing of 150 years of popularity going for us! Clarinets are the best!
I’m not interested in the sheet music giveaway.. but just curious, do you have Phantom of the Opera sheet music for piano? I’m looking for the song ” All I ask of you”. Thanks =)
The Tenor Sax is BY FAR the best woodwind instrument there is. Not only can wonderful classical solos be produced on it, but it is essential for jazz, as no jazz band could be without it. Improv solos are basically made for the tenor sax, and all the greatest music legends including John Coltrane and Stan Getz to name a few played it as their instrument. The saxophone also trumps other instruments, as it has the largest dynamic capabilities of all of them, and can have a range of 3 octaves. And for everybody out there that have posted comments dissing the saxophone- you should listen to a good sax player so you can really know how it sounds. Where would jazz and improv be without the tenor sax? Nowhere.
I play the oboe, and I believe that it’s one of the greatest instruments in an orchestra. Not only does it have its own unique sound when played, it provides a curious instrumentalist to learn and challenge themselves to something new. When I first started out on oboe, I thought it was intriguing; it wasn’t a flute, though most of the fingerings are the same, and it wasn’t the clarinet. It was a mixture of the two instruments, and something new and exciting for a flute player of 5 years. I have to say, because I get bored easily, being able to learn, experiment, and explore a new instrument was just what I needed to get myself excited about learning music again. There are a great many differences in playing the oboe and learning about its different parts. For a flute player like myself, I had to learn how to control my embrochure, especially since I’ve never played a reed instrument before, let alone a double-reed. And second, after learning how to correctly play the oboe and learn its key fingerings, I was given an opportunity to play the English horn, which is far rarer to see in a symphony orchestra. Because this instrument’s exotic appearance into my life, I was introduced into a whole new and different type of woodwind that I’d never thought to be able to experience.
well i play both the clarinet and bass sax and i love both instruments. they area both very unique in their own ways and i can’t tell which one i actually like the most. Even though i’ve played the clarinet far longer than the saxophone, it is really a very easy instrumetn to pick up and learn. I enjoy the deep sound it produces and the pieces which it accompanies to. The deep notes are soothing and calming.
overall both my clarinet and saxophone are my favourite instrument.

3. The reason I started playing the flute, according to my mom, was that my fingers were too short or small for the clarinet and the sax. true story! i started playing flute in school in 4th grade and stopped at the end of my freshman year of high school. but i still play whenever i come home from college.
one of the reasons i think the flute is one of the “better” woodwind instruments is the range. i’m not sure of the range of other woodwinds, but i’m amazed how you can play both low and very high notes. i always thought flute music was typically in the classical genre, but i now know that it’s used in all sorts of music like jazz and rock. another plus is it’s portable. i also play piano, but unfortunately you can’t carry a grand piano wherever you go.
go flutes!

I’m capable of playing all sax’s but I specialize in the Tenor….Saxes are the best woodwind instrument because not only do they sound beautiful both by themselves and together, they’re also the sexiest instruments out there. Romance is all but dead but as long as I’m alive and am capable of playing the sax, romance will live on. Although I think that any instrument can tell a story if played well, I believe the sax is the most capable of doing that because its individual sounds are simply gorgeous. You can’t help but feel, see and let the music engulf you entirely when you hear it.

I play the flute which has to be one of the best instruments I could have chosen. It’s a great portable instrument which I’ve been able to play in groups and as a soloist. I sing in a Celtic ensemble, and the flute is a wonderful addition to some of the pieces. Over the years, the ability to play the flute has also opened up the chance for me to teach myself sax and bassoon because the fingerings are similar.

3) I play two woodwind instruments (Clarinet and Alto Saxophone) but I should rather prefer to talk about the Alto Saxophone. 4 years ago I took music in Gr. 7, and it has been a love ever since! I am so glad I chose the Alto Saxophone because it has a lovely melodic sound (if played properly), and it is quite easy to grasp. I am in the Senior Band at my school and we have played Lord Of The Rings, Phantom Of The Opera, Pirates Of The Caribbean. I play 2nd Alto Saxophone, but that is only because my Band Partner insists we play 2nd because it is easier. Saxophone is amazing in Jazz music, with it’s rich sound and tone quality, and since the fingering is simple it allows you to play really fast music to make it sound even more beautiful. The saxophone may not have many solos, but in my eyes it is one of the most beautiful sounding woodwinds on the planet.

The Alto Saxaphone is possibly the most amazing instrument on the planet. It is versatle across basicall every style of music and yet still reatins its quality and glamour. From ska and Jazz, to classical and Rock, there is always an occasion for the Alto sax!

FLUTE!!! Flutes are amazing, awesome, way cool, and the all-round best instrument because:
1. no transposing music from hymnals/piano music
2. it’s light and the case is small enough to fit into a backpack or the tiny space between the huge amount of luggage and the roof of the trunk when you are packing to go back to university.
3. Greg Patillo, the beat-boxing flutist…need I say more
4. One of the earliest woodwind instruments, the transverse flute was commonly used during the baroque era in the works of such composers as Bach (JS and CPE) and Telemann
5. the huge amount of flute repertoire available, from JS Bach’s Partita in a minor to the Taktakishvili sonata and beyond
6. front-row placement in the majority of concert bands and wind ensembles
7. we sound good on everything from low slow laments to high fast reels and jigs
8. we can do cool things like bending our airstream to make the flute sound a half-step below the note we’re actually fingering, and playing with certain fingerings to make two notes sound at once
9. every university seems to have a flute prof
10. Sir James Galway…listen to him play and you’ll know what I mean.
11. the many things flutes can be made out of, from wood to glass to platinum.
12. when a flutist moves as they play they look like they’re dancing.
13. everybody’s heard of flutes, but not everybody’s heard of other instruments like bassoons.
14. flutes are one of the instruments mentioned by name in the Bible
I’m sure there’s more awesome things about the flute

3. Bb Bass Clarinet.
I absolutely LOVE my instrument. There are not many bass clarinet players out there. Infact, I am the only person entering this contest so far that plays bass clarinet.
It is my main instrument.
I started out playing Bb clarinet in 5th grade, and then I got the chance to switch to bass in 7th.
I switched and I NEVER want to go back.
The sound is absolutely amazing. It is a deep, rich tone full of warmth.
Not many people know that you can march with a bass clarinet, but I have, and this will be my 4th year marching with it.
In marching band, our directors prefer to hear bass clarinet sound over tenor sax sound, because bass clarinet adds more depth and has a better tone.
It kinda looks like a goose.
I am a sophomore in high school, and I LOVE my bass clarinet.
I call it a beast clarinet.
BEAST!
p.s. The website is my blog about my bass clarinet.

I play the Bb clarinet, and the reason I was originally most drawn to it and why I think it is the best is simply for the sound. To me, the clarinet has the most beautiful, pure tone of any woodwind instrument. It can play any type or style of music from jazz (benny goodman anyone?!) to classical and still sound amazing. The clarinet is a challenging instrument but also incredibly fun. I love my clarinet!

3. Bassoon
Well, the Bassoon is probably the hardest woodwind instrument to play. It requires ALOT of practice and hard work. I mean, it’s the only instrument that makes you use all 10 of your fingers at once (no, holding up your instrument with your thumb doesn’t count). Also, the Bassoon is very comical and makes you laugh like this HAHA! So that’s why I should get this music
My instrument of choice would have to be the saxophone family (I love them all) The saxophone has its own genre of music. I do not believe that it is jazz if it doesn’t have a saxophone. I believe that more people know of David Sanborn than Anton Stadler (Mozart composed two works for this clarinetist) or Laura Baillie (flute). People grow tired of the high pitched trilling of a flute, the dull noise of a clarinet, the quacking of an oboe, and the obnoxious of a bassoon. We long for the dark romantic melody that can only be produced by a saxophone. The saxophone has been cheated when placed in bands, being suppressed by “worthier” instruments. However, place a saxophone on its rightful pedestal and it will sing like no other. The saxophone combines the power of a brass with the technique of a woodwind. This is why the saxophone is the master of the woodwind instruments.
*obnoxious buzz of a bassoon. Sorry, forgot the buzz part.
